About Me:
I am Zai Abdullah, a home-based cook and baker. Most people call me Kak Zai 😊
I am very particular about using quality ingredients when I cook for myself and my family, so this is also how I cook and bake for others.
I use free-range eggs (telur kampung) and pure butter in all my baking and cooking. My philosophy is, if I won’t eat them, I will not feed them to my family and customers either.
From my oven, my best sellers are:
- Crunchy Telur Kampung Cookies (Original Chocolate Chips, Almond Butterscotch, Ginger Butterscotch)
- Buttery Scones
- Banoffee Pie
- Toffee Apple Cheesecake
- Cakes with Essential Oils i.e. Lavender Dreamy Cake and Chocolate Orange
I enjoy doing ‘naked style‘ cakes with fresh flowers decorations and use Swiss Meringue Buttercream (SMB) frosting or chocolate ganache for my cakes.
I also do a mix of SMB, ganache and fondant for decorations. I’m still new at cake decorating and I think I am getting better at it with each order I completed 😄
From my kitchen, my signature dish is my Laksa Johor, cooked using my mom’s tried and tested recipe perfected over the years. I get raving reviews about it!
I also take small group orders for a min of 20 pax for Nasi Lemak, Lasagna, Rendang, Roast Chicken and selected western dishes.
My price ranges from as low as RM10 for a Laksa Johor box to RM130 for a basic 1kg cakes with EO.
Delivery charges apply depending on your location. I am based in Ampang.
